Apparently, though I don't see why.
I'm much more concerned with whether Cassandra Cain has actually become a villain (and whether DC thought they needed to do that to "clear the way" for Batwoman) than this new Batwoman, and what her sexual orientation is.
Yeah, I really don't like the idea of DC "cleaning house" with Cassandra.
As for her being a lesbian, I have to give DC a point the choice. However, she should not be defined by it - rather it should just be an interesting point to bring up once and a while as needed.
From what I can tell we are getting a Barb Gordon looking happy-go-lucky batman-woman. I'll check it out, but my expectations are very low right now.
Non-comic book readers don't realize how common lesbians are in comics.
